I am consuming gemer fort 2 mg and janumet 50/500 for my diabetic condition 2 times a day. My sugar level is around 130/140 random. Please advice whether the level maintained is OK or should I change my medicines, as the same been consumed for the last 2 yrs. The medicines been expensive would like to go in for an alternative to this.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. To know whether blood glucose is very well controlled it is necessary to know Fasting, PP glucose levels plus HbA1c%. Only random levels do not give a clear picture. As regards the present brands being expensive, there are alternate brands for Gemer 2 which are almost 50% in price. But Janumet or this combination does not have an alternative brand. But there are alternative molecules which can be tried. Thanks.
