If on x ray your joint are damaged & worn out due to age or weight problem and pain is disabling & severe, knee replacement is the final permanent option. If severity & damage is less, you can opt for local lubricant injection, stem cell therapy also but may not long last. Basic treatment of weight reduction, increased calcium intake, minimal analgesic, chondro protective drugs are key to success for any further treatment But TKR is the final permanent solution with all due precautions. Also avoid sitting cross legged or sitting squat.
Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold). Avoid Squatting- Avoid sitting Cross legged
