However, certain precautions are needed like: No sweets, no junk food, no pastries, no bakery items, no foods made from maida, no colas and other sugary drinks. Preferably no alcohol. Always use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Consume good deal of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. There is no need to give energy supplement. He should exercise regularly like walking yoga etc. Should be active as far as he can. Take medicines as prescribed. Monitor blood sugar regularly.
