Sorry to learn about your problem. Please keep in touch with a good nephrologist. First, the doctor needs to find out if your diabetes has caused the injury. Other diseases can cause kidney damage. Your kidneys will work better and last longer if you: Control your diabetes Control high blood pressure Get treatment for urinary tract infections Correct any problems in your urinary system Avoid any medicines that may damage the kidneys (especially over-the-counter pain medications) If no other problems are found, your doctor will try to keep your kidneys working as long as possible. The use of high blood pressure medicines called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors has been shown to help slow the loss of kidney function.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Increasing levels serum creatinine & urea is a clear sign of progressively deteriorating kidney function. One of the major reasons for this is uncontrolled blood glucose level plus high BP. Since there is no mention of either the blood glucose levels, HbA1c% or BP it is difficult to give any further comments. Plus there is also no mention of current drugs and dosages. For improving kidney function achieving better blood glucose control as well as maintaining near normal BP is essential. It is better to consult a good diabetologist and a physicain to manage the case effectively. Thanks.
