Alport syndrome can be characterized as a condition, causing kidney disease in the form of abnormalities in relation to the functioning of the kidney. A family history of this disease, genetics, or loss of hearing at an early age is the main cause of this condition. A person affected by this condition should have a well-balanced diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, should control their blood pressure and limit fluids.

The symptoms of this condition are loss of vision, swelling around the eyes and other parts of the body, upper respiratory infections and blood in the urine.
