Dry cnugh is very irritative to throat and cough. Long time prolongation indicate your immunity is less. You need to improve them first. Take gargling with sandhav lavan 3 times per day. No need to pathology investigation. If you take continue medicine for 3 month your problem will be short out.

My husband has a cough problem since 10 years. He got his check up several times, all the doctors said the issue is because of allergy pollution & also seasonal. Can you please assist with this issue. He is facing such problem almost everyday. He also has some sinus issue. please help doctor.

MBBS, Diploma In Tropical Medicine Health, MRCP(UK)
Allergist/Immunologist, Hyderabad
Dear Ms. lybrate-user, you need not worry about your husbands problem. You have given a very good historyto make a correct diagnostic. He is obviously suffering from respiratory allergy which also affects sinuses. To get complete treatment you should find a good allergist who can findout causes of allergy ,like dust, poleem and possibly certain fruits. After thar that he would advise to avoid things he allergic to (if possible) and certain medicines to overcome the allergy. However as problem of long duration he may need immnotherapy (vaccine injections against allergy) this will make your husbands condition much better. Your allergist will give your husband appropriate advice.
