Wheezing is the medical term attributed to high pitched sound emitted while inhaling and exhaling, it is common in people suffering from pulmonary and respiratory problems like asthma, bronchitis, lung disorders and even sleep apnea. It is caused owing to inflamed respiratory passageways and production of excessive mucous which produces the whistling noise. It is also a symptom of serious breathing problems and must be dealt with in the initial stages, either with prescription medicines like cough syrup, or home remedies like gargling and vapor therapy.
