Dr, I am 75 year old, diagnosed type 2 diabetic before three years. Before that it was controlled by food regulations. Dr. prescribed glyciphage g1 forte and it was almost controlled (1 tablet morning and 1 tablet evening after food). Now fasting sugar is 110 average but post food is 280. I am not interested in taking insulin. Kindly advice. What about using a substitute like exermet gm fort.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, I note that your blood sugar after breakfast is quite high. You have not mentioned your height or weight. If you are overweight (weight in kg more than height in cm minus 100) then you will have tobe very strict with diet, avoid carbohydrates as much as possibel and take more proteins and vegetables. If you also walk for 1 hour per day you can reuce about 1 mg weight per month. If youbring your weight down ot ideal body weight then your sugars may remain under control with only glyciphage, if you are not overweight a different approach is needed and you can take an online consultation and we can hep you
