Std or sexually transmitted diseases, are acquired when you come in sexual contact with an infected person. There are many organisms like bacteria, fungi and viruses that cause stds. Hiv, hepatitis b, chlamydia, and genital herpes are the commonest stds. Std can cause you to experience minor symptoms like rash, fever and abnormal discharge to major life threatening diseases like aids. Safe sex practices and use of condoms drastically reduce the risk of transmission. Always take medical help if you feel you have come in contact with an infected person or are experiencing symptoms.
