Mr Nari, For a diabetic person, it usually advised to avoid banana, chikkoo, mango and grapes, the reason being these fruits are very sweet. May add to increase blood glucose. However, there is high degree of fructose in these, which may not increase blood glucose directly. So taking a banana (small one ) occasionally is fine. But most important is blood glucose levels should be well in control. Total intake of fruits should be about 100 g a day. Taking a good deal of green salads is a muche better option. Ideally one should maintain fasting glucose close to 100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <7. Plus daily exercise of about 1 hour is a must. Thanks.

Hi Nari, Diabetes is a metabolic disorder. our metabolism depends upon what type of food we have.Diabetes itself is the result of all over the long period. it's never like u can't have the sweet things but other things should be avoided or controlled on that day.If u like banana u can have small bite of it. also remember it has high glycemic index means more sugar content..What u love is more important.
