Dear Lybrate user, meet a physician and they will do check your physical condition like thyroid, iron binding, vitamin b12 and vit d3. Sometimes due to these medicines won’t work much. So first taking care of your body will help to improve mental health conditions. Don’t loose hope, meet your psychiatrist again and take psychological aids along with medication. It may take 4 to 6 weeks for amitriptyline to start working. Keep taking it as prescribed. In the meantime, I strongly recommend that you do some counseling to learn some skills and tools to deal with your problem of anxiety and ocd. Because you are young there are excellent possibilities that you can resolve your issues with therapy, as well. Anxiety is abnormal fear, that is, you have not been dealing with normal fear properly and therefore you will react with anxiety and even ocd. You might have had these difficulties due to your age. When you reach late adolescence, it is likely that unresolved issues especially concerning fear, will surface for the last time seeking a resolution. So this is a good time to tackle these issues with therapy where you will learn how to handle your emotions and to express them appropriately and remove the residual effects for life! you must in the meantime exercise regularly, sleep well and adequately, become emotionally balanced, and follow a tight schedule that keeps you properly occupied and not busy. You can combine therapy and medication, if so advised.

Dear Deepak, Amitriptyline takes 2-3 weeks to start its action. It works only at a particular dose that will be built every 2-3 weeks by your doctor. If you still don't respond, the doctor will shift to more effective drug. You don't need clonazepam at this young age of 21 years.
