I am suffering from diabetes. I check sugar daily with accucheck machine. Normally fasting sugar is around 130 And post meal sugar is 175. I am taking madhunashini tabs of patanjali. I am also taking karla and kadulimb juice daily. Please advise me what should be ideal readings of sugar when checked with accucheck. Please also advise me the treatment for fast recovery i. E. Bringing down the sugar level to desired level. Suhas pethe.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if your pp sugar level is 175 mg without taking any medication to control sugar, then you are in a prediabetes stage. The drugs mentioned are not really helpful in bringing blood sugar down. Only modern medicines have insulin secretion stimulating and insulin resistance reducing actions, proven in clinical trials world over. Dignostic criteria for t2 dm is fasting should be >126 mg, pp >200 mg and hba1c%>6.5. Please let me know whether these were met when you were told to have had diabetes. Further if some one has diabetes then only way to bring blood sugar to or near normal is by taking appropriate modern medicine either oral or insulin injections. Plus dietary control and exercise.
