Hello, my fasting blood sugar is 81 but my hb a1c is 6.5. I usually avoid sugar but had some sweets and chocolates in the past 2 weeks before the test. Do I have diabetes? I am 29. I work out regularly. I am 5.10 and weigh 84. I have a family history of diabetes. I do have anxiety and sleeping problems and feel tired sometimes. I don't feel thirsty and I don't wake up at night for urination.

Repeat blood sugar fasting, pp, hba1c after few days. Also follow diabetes diet which simply means eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts and sticking to regular mealtimes. A diabetes diet is a healthy-eating plan that's naturally rich in nutrients and low in fat and calories. Key elements are fruits, vegetables and whole grains. U can take (moderate amount) grapes. Apples. Berries. Citrus fruits. Papaya. U should avoid sugar-sweetened beverages. Sugary beverages are the worst drink choice for someone with diabetes. Trans fats sugar, cake, pastries mithai/sweets chocolate fruits like mango, litchi etc. White bread, pasta fruit-flavored yogurt. Sweetened breakfast cereals. Flavored coffee drinks. Honey 1.
