My thyroid levels are fluctuating since last three to four months. Last month tsh was 0.63 using thyronorm 137.5 mcg. Yesterday tah was 1.03. Can I reduce the dosage to 125 mcg? My bp is also fluctuating. Now 135/85. I am not using any bp medicine. Please advise.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Madam I have seen the details given. Following are my observations : 1) At 68 years your TSH levels need to be a bit higher than what those are at present. It is better if the level is maintained around 4 to 5 mU/L. 2) So the present dosage needs to be reduced by 12.5 to 25 mcg per day, then check the TSH again after 6 weeks. 3) You have just mentioned the levels, there is nothing about any symptoms that you may having . 4) BP 135/85 mm Hg is quite fine for you. Since you are not on any medication, then there is no need to take any. 5)Your BMI(Body Mass Index is 29.72 kgs/Sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter) which is almost in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal body weight should be closer to 60 kgs, which means there is an excess of over 20 kgs. This itself can cause multiple problems including increased BP. Therefore, you need o look at your diet and exercise quite closely. Thanks.
