I am a 26 year old female on anti tb medications shall complete 3 months now. Basically being isoniazid resistant so been prescribed rifampicin, levofloxacin, ethambutol and pyrazinamide, the doctor has advised to stop pyrazinamide by this month end yet I have not overcome the side effects due to these medicines. I suffer severe vomiting and nausea at least once a month, I am also taking pan d. The doctor suggest me to stop the medicines for few days after that and restart again. After vomiting I am suffering from pain in the lower abdomen for at least 4-5 days which decreases my appetite as well. There is also swelling and pain near my ankle as well. Kindly advise if the treatment is working or not?

Hello lybrate-user, the regimen given to you seems to be proper. Nausea and vomiting is common with anti tb meds. U can take a better antacid than just pan d. Your response to the meds is decided by your chest xray. If improvements are there on that, then it means you r respomdimg to the treatment.
