i am 26 years old I have pain on the right side of abdomen. My family doctor predict its an appendicitis and he give antibiotic tablet aricef o. Its side effects.

Hello mam. Did you do an usg abdomen or a ct scan plain abdomen to confirm your diagnosis? Coz there are various diffential diagnosis for right side abdomen pain such as- right mid ureteric calculi, right ovarian cyst, chrons disease, ulcerative colitis, mysenteric lymphadenopathy, gallstone. Etc. Without the confirmatory diagnosis, giving an antibiotic alone will not help. So I would suggest you to take a scan and confirm your diagnosis. And secondly as per your question. Tab. Aricef usually doesn't give any side effects. But text book common side effects would be nausea, loose stools and rarely any allergic reaction to the drug. And if your diagnosis is appendicitis, may I suggest that surgery- laparoscopic appendectomy is the ideal treatment of choice than medical management, coz it can occur anytime again. Hi. Considering your age, site of pain, your family doctor may be correct in diagnosis. To confirm that you should visit a surgeon and get treated. As such your ongoing antibiotic is concern, don't about the side effects, as they are usually rare, usually mild and very short term. It is safe, don't worry.
