We don't know your exact condition for which you are taking nexito forte. Assuming it's a recurring condition (as you are taking it for 15 years), it would be advisable not to stop it abruptly without consulting first. Though it's a decision taken jointly by you and your psychiatrist, gradual tapering off the dosage would be better if you want to discontinue it in the long run. For example, small dose reductions over a span of, lets say 6 months should not cause you much discomfort. Any of any other medicine - the problem of not wanting to take pills would not be solved. We suggest, you discuss the risk-benefit of your medication discontinuation with your psychiatrist, and then do it with his/her advice and under his/her supervision.

Nexito forte contains escitalopram and clonazepam. The first one is safe for long term use, but the second one can be tried to be weaned off, but it's a tough ordeal as you have to attend monthly review with a psychiatrist, an alternate has to be given, this dose titrated down gradually, the entire process might take six months, and you need to be patient and take the alternates. Good luck.

Hi lybrate-user, I see how this is a stressful and confusing situation for you. I believe nexito forte is usually prescribed for anxiety disorders. For long standing anxiety, I am wondering if therapy may be a solution. Depression and anxiety is often best dealt with in therapy. Your therapist would help you to bring the thoughts and emotions triggering your anxiety, to your awareness and help you process them in a safe environment. The medication helps you control your symptoms and is possible why they come up for you again once you stop taking the meds. However, therapy would play a crucial role here to help you challenge these thoughts that lead to your symptoms in the first place and help you with tools to deal with them on a long term basis.
