Hello doctor. I am a 18 year girl. I am having much hair loss now. Previously there was no hair loss but now in this two years my hair has become very thin. Dandruff has increased by many folds. My scalp has become more oily. Within one or two day of shampoo the hair is getting oily and when I am applying oil or doing shampoo a lot of hair loss is there. I really get scared of it. I was using salisia kt for my dandruff. I have gone for many shampoos and oils but nothing has given me a good result. My father was telling me that I should go for prp treatment. Will it be safe? Will it be effective? Really I need my hairs back. I want to get my thick hair. Please prescribe me something.

Hi! hair fall is because of multiple factors, namely nutritional, hormonal, genetic, stress induced, environmental etc. If it is baldness, you need to get evaluated systematically. Sometimes ,local scalp conditions like dandruff, folliculitis etc can cause hairfall. Usually ,shampoos and oils don't play much role in stimulating hair growth .oiling (massaging to scalp) indirectly helps in increasing blood flow to the hair follicles but can aggravate dandruff in prone patients. Similarly, shampoos also minimal role expect for clearing the debris and scales in dandruff cases. Use biotin supplements, calcium supplements, vitamin d for timebeing. Take good protein diet, include plenty of vegetables and fruits .incorporate omega 3 foods in your diet. Get blood tests done if not responding in a month or so and follow up with your local dermatologist .prp is definetly a boon for hair fall patients. You can get it done.

First the type and cause of hair loss needs to be diagnosed with history, examination and lab tests. Then appropriate treatment can be suggested. Prp does help to regain the thickness in, combinations of other oral and topical medications.

Dear Lybrate user, first of all nothing to be scared of as hair fall is a condition which is totally controllable and treatable with medicines and proper hair care. Thinking about it and worrying only makes it worse. So calm down. Up to 50-100 hairs falling in a day can be normal for some people. For oily scalp use a normal shampoo before your antidandruff shampoo on the same day. Avoid putting oil on scalp. For few weeks. Comb with a wide toothed comb only. Neem bark made wodden combs are best. Oil it and keep it overnight before use. For prp you should consult a dermatologist in clinic. Because first of all there should be a proper diagnosis made of your hair fall. Don't hurry visit at least two dermatologist then listen to them and make desicion.
