I am a diabetic patient. Doctor prescribed gluformin g2 tab. 1/tablet after lunch. Now my blood sugar level fasting 90 after food 2/hours 120. I need to substitute medicine for it because medicine is quite expensive. I lose weight a lot since I diagnosed diabetic. I don't want any medicine which will help to loose the weight again. Now I am 47/years and 57 kg weight.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. In a person with undiagnosed diabetes, there is weight loss. Once the blood glucose level are well controlled, body weight stabilises. You have mentioned fasting and pp glucose levels, but nothing about hba1c%, so difficult to know how well is diabetes controlled. Further, you have not mentioned the height, it is not possible to calculate your ideal body weight. We also need to know your diet pattern and extent of daily exercise before any comment can be made.
