as sugar levels get controlled, doctors usually taper down the number of/ power of medicines. this is done to prevent the patient's sugar from falling to lower than normal levels. However, there is no fixed protocol for tapering it. it depends on the initial level of sugar, the dietary changes adopted, the initial power of the medicines etc.

Mr. Lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have gone through the details. Please understand in a well controlled diabetes patient fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 6.8%. You have mentioned only fasting glucose (130 mg/ 100 ml). No other details are given. As regards the hypertension, ideally bp should be maintained around 130/ 70 to 80 mm hg. In controlling blood glucose apart from drugs, diet control and regular exercise with weight control play a very vital role. Since none of those details are given, there is no way to comment. Another aspect which is difficult to understand is what do you mean by" how to lower the allopathic medicines" because if diabetes and bp need to be controlled, then prescribed medicines are necessary. Thanks.
