Taking AYUSH medications which lack proper scientific study is your personal choice. World Health Organisation advocates and many medically aware people take allopathy which clearly states the risks and benefits rather than relying on medications claiming no side effects. In reality there can be no medicine without side effect as when a molecule helps in a place (cells) in our body, can produce unwanted effects in other cells. But literacy or wealth is not the reason for a person to select the type of treatment. For example Steve Jobs the founder of Apple, even he, did not take allopathy for pancreatic cancer, which was amongst the easily treatable type in deadly pancreatic cancer and relied on naturopathy and other stuff, delaying for more than a year. When finally through family friends and others, senses prevailed upon him to realise allopathic treatment, alas the cancer has spread from its initial localised site to many parts of his body and he died. His oncologist (allopathic doctor) said Steve Jobs had in fact committed suicide due to his ignorance and belief despite all riches, technology, and facilities beside him. Not to undermine alternative therapies, it is finally your choice.
