I was facing back pain, SI joint Pain and neck stiffness from past 2 months and I am diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis around 20 days back and from then I have started taking medicine. My question is 1. Is it possible to prevent fusion of the spine by proper exercise and medicine? 2. What are the chances of getting any of the worst case symptom from this disease? 3. Can I live a normal life may be after 2-3 years with proper treatment?

Deep breathing for lung expansion and stretching exercises to improve spine and joint mobility. Are also advised to sleep on a firm mattress and avoid the use of a pillow in order to prevent spine curvature. Aerobic exercise is generally encouraged as it promotes full expansion of the breathing muscles and opens the airways of the lungs.
