Hello doctor! My father age is 52 years old. He has been suffering from blood pressure since couple of weeks. Blood pressure was 170/100 at the time. Doctor has prescribed to take tablet Telma-40 a day and to continue till one month. But now his pressure is stable. Please!advice is there any side effects of tablets! should he take pills as a life time?

Dear Lybrate user Antihypertensive medicines should not be discontinued without medical supervision even if the b.p.reading is normal. Otherwise on the other hand homeopathic treatment may be taken after consultation with a homeopathic physician and may not be needed after the pt. Is cured.
