Protein shakes and all the other supplements are normally consumed by professional athletes, whose career are sports. Their protein needs are way higher than those who are involved in recreational and body maintenance workout. They are also under a guidance of a proper sports nutritionist. Otherwise we should opt for all the natural sources for protein like eggs which are complete food, are filled with all the essential proteins, milk and milk products, animal based low fat meats, etc. If there is sever malnutrition, it is better to take advise form a proper dietitian instead of the trainer, who will have more knowledge about other aspects as well which will help you achieve your optimum health.
