Fast Food - Harmful Effects It May Cause!

The name 'fast food' comes from the fact that it can be prepared and served in a jiffy and not to mention, tastes delicious. Don't be fooled by the smell and the taste, they have such little to no nutritional value that they can hardly be called food. They are rich in calories, fat and sugar that lead to various kinds of health conditions. Popular junk foods include gums, sweets, carbonated drinks, desserts, dried foods; you probably love them now but after knowing their effects on your health you might want to eliminate them from your diet. Here are some of the conditions which can be caused by consumption of excessive fast food:

  • Heart diseases: Fast food contains high amounts of trans or saturated fats that can clog your arteries and lead to high level of cholesterol later in life. People who have junk food more than four times a week increase their risk of dying by 80%.
  • Obesity: Adolescents who have poor eating habits are at high risk of being obese. Gaining a lot of weight beyond a recommended proportion can cause many health problems. Junk foods have sugar and calories that lead to weight gain. It has also been noticed that people who are prone to eating more fast foods are less likely to consume fruits and vegetables and this further weakens their immune system.
  • Peptic Ulcer: Peptic ulcer is a disease that occurs in the gastrointestinal tract; it is acidic in nature and causes extreme stomach ache. Spicy oily and salted food combined with stress and alcohol can lead to this condition.
  • Diabetes: Busy work schedule prevents many people from cooking at home and they take resort in fast food but it is advisable not to let work get in the way of your health. Consuming regular fast food coupled with poor lifestyle and lack of exercise lead to obesity which in turn cause Type 2 diabetes.

Cut down on junk foods and incorporate fruits and vegetables and also make time to include a daily exercise routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Carrots (Gajar) - Know Advantages Of It!

The fiber and beta carotene content in carrots makes them extremely healthy. Carrots also have a number of other nutrients including Vitamins B8, K, A and C as well as iron, folate, potassium, copper and manganese.

Here are the benefits which these nutrients give to your body

1. Reduces cholesterol
Studies have shown that eating carrots lowers your blood cholesterol levels. The most recent theory for why this happens is because carrots have a large amount of soluble fiber. This soluble fiber has been claimed to lower blood cholesterol levels.

2. Chances of cancer reduced
Carrots have a lot of bioflavonoids and alpha carotene. Both of these have been said to lower the risk of cancer, especially lung cancer.

3. Keeps your vision good
You must have heard from your parents that eating carrots is good for your eye health. While it is not true that they can cure any significant eye illnesses, they can prevent many illnesses caused by a vitamin A deficiency. They do this because beta-carotene which is there in carrots can be converted to vitamin A. Vitamin A prevents include cataracts, night blindness as well as macular degeneration.

4. Prevents memory loss
Beta-carotene is crucial for preventing memory loss. According to a recent study conducted by Harvard University, it was concluded that people who ate vegetables such as carrots which contained beta-carotene had their chances of suffering from memory loss reduced.

5. Diabetes prevention
Beta-carotene is an antioxidant in carrots which lowers your risk of diabetes. It has been found that people with high levels of beta-carotene had 32% more insulin in their blood than people with low levels of beta-carotene.

6. Improves bone health
Carrots also contain vitamin C and calcium, both of which are good for bone health. This is especially important for post-menopausal women who usually have a deficiency of calcium in their bodies.

Relationship Counselling - 4 Important Things It Can Teach You!

Relationships can get difficult and a number of factors are responsible for such problems. Often a couple may drift apart due to communication issues, while at other times the problem can start after undergoing a traumatic event in life. Whatever the reason may be, if you and your partner wish to repair your relationship and make it work, you may need the help of a relationship counsellor.

A relationship counsellor is a trained professional who conducts a close interactive session with the individual/the couple. During the session, the counsellor communicates with them, discusses their relationship history and the troubles, empathizes with their problems and use a variety of techniques to help them work through those problems.

During the session, here are a few things that you can learn from relationship counselling-

• It’s not about who is right

When you attend relationship counselling, you get to understand that the counsellor does not focus on who is right and who is wrong. The counselling is all about repairing the trust and the damage caused by the miscommunication in the relationship. You and your partner will need to actively work towards a mutual solution. Furthermore, the counsellor will try to help establish boundaries in the relationship, the loss of which may have been causing the problems.

• Multiple sessions are required to resolve the problems

It is a misconception that a single session with a relationship counsellor will magically repair all the issues between you and your partner. Counselling does not work that way. The first couple of sessions will be informational only, where you would need to provide detailed information about your relationship. The therapist will ask you and your partner questions to get the complete picture and go to the bottom of the problem. In successive sessions, the counsellor will start helping you deal with the problems.

• The counsellor will act as a mediator

The therapist will actively communicate with you and your partner during the entire process. Even if you two start having an argument, the counsellor will not only act as the observer but will also point out flaws or weaknesses that you and your partner should work on. At the end of the day, the counselor's job is providing solutions to a couple’s relationship issues.

• Counselling means starting over

Most people approach the relationship counsellor in the hopes of reinstating their relationship to its former glory. However, this is not how you should think of counselling. After a few sessions with the counsellor, you will get to know that it is more about starting fresh than to simply retrace your steps. Since the earlier approach did not work, it is important for you and your partner to open up to a new path.

Many times, individuals or couples are nervous or hesitant seeking help from a relationship counsellor. While the entire procedure may seem intimidating initially, many couples have discovered that attending a couple of sessions with an open mind and willingness to work through the troubles together proved useful in restoring harmony in the relationship.

Tips For Improving Penis Sensitivity

Tips For Improving Penis Sensitivity

Most men are well aware that penis sensation matters a great deal. It's what makes anything sexual feel so wonderful - from the feather-light touches of a partner to the more heavy-handed use of their own hand for masturbation, all the sensation a man feels relies on the nerve endings in the penis. Those nerve endings provide penis sensation that can give a man the heights of pleasure. But many men don't know just how much of an impact proper penis care can have on penis sensitivity. Here's what every man needs to know about improving his penis sensation through a daily regimen.

Tips for improving penis sensitivity

So without further ado, here's what every man should be doing, every single day, to help keep his sensitivity at its peak.

1) Keep it clean. Though daily hygiene seems like a no-brainer, many men don't realize just how important it really is to get a daily shower and carefully clean the penis while under the water. Cleaning the penis well ensures that dead skin cells are washed away, which leaves glowing, fresh skin ready for action. Besides that, the water washes away nasty bacteria that could easily take hold and create rashes, lesions and more. Those skin problems can toughen up the delicate penis skin, thus leading to a decrease in penis sensitivity.

2) Moisturize like crazy. The more moisture trapped in the skin, the more likely the nerve endings will be healthy and happy. But not just any moisture works; a man should reach for moisturizers that contain only all-natural ingredients, that are proven to keep the skin smooth and supple and that have passed dermatological approval. When using the moisturizer, it's always best to apply it immediately after a shower. This is when the skin is properly exfoliated, so the new skin will be more receptive to the softness imparted by the moisturizer, and it will "trap" the moisture from the shower inside, better hydrating the skin for hours.

3) Switch it up. Over time, many guys develop their favorite position during sex or their favorite grip during masturbation. And while this might be fine at first, over time the body comes to expect this certain touch or action. The nerve endings that are subject to that particular grip, for instance, might begin to lose some of their sensitivity, leading to areas of the penis that don't respond as well as they used to. To prevent this from happening, a guy should never get stuck in a rut. Switching up his positions and grip can not only keep things fresh, but protect his penis sensation as well.

4) Protect it inside and out. A guy already knows that it's important to protect his penis skin, such as with a plethora of vitamins and nutrients in a good penis health crème. But a guy might not realize that he also needs to be careful about what he puts into his body. The saying "You are what you eat" holds true for anyone, and that means that when a guy puts more desirable things into his body, he will see more desirable results on his skin. Eating a healthy diet, including lots of veggies and fruits, will show up in rosy, glowing skin and better sensitivity not just on his penis, but everywhere else as well.

Speaking of maintaining penis sensitivity through using the right ingredients, a man can't go wrong with a top-notch penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Used on a daily basis, a good crème should contain vitamin E and Shea butter for hydration and smoothness, which can enhance nerve endings. A guy should also strive to protect the sensation he has, which is where L-carnitine comes in. This amino acid is known for protecting against peripheral nerve damage that can result from rough or excessive handling.

Living Healthy Despite Pollution!

Living healthy despite pollution

Polluted air and water have harmful effects on the human body; however, awareness and medical treatment can help in living healthy.

With our negligence and irresponsible behavior we have severely polluted our environment; now it kills about 90 lac people per year. One in every eight deaths is due to air pollution in India, as per a 2017 record. According to a WHO study conducted in 2017, over one lac children died in India due to air pollution. An assessment in 2015 revealed that 80% of the surface water was contaminated. We create these problems, and we face the consequences. However, awareness, proper healthcare and hygiene can resolve the issues.

Air Pollution

Air surrounding us consists of dust, smoke and chemicals and is a pathway towards different diseases. Respiratory tract infections and irritation, bronchial asthma, ischaemic heart disease, stroke etc., are caused due to air pollution. Covering our nose and mouth with a handkerchief isn’t enough anymore! At times we develop breathlessness, cough and feel feverish; homeopathy has a wide range of medicines to help you with such conditions.

A six-year-old boy complained about a cough and fever when he came to my clinic. A cough was triggered by exposure to vehicular smoke. For both, his cough and fever, I prescribed Aconite 200 CH and suggested a protein-rich diet to support the medicines. After the symptoms reduced, I prescribed Calc-p 30CH to ensure that its symptoms do not reoccur.

Along with smoke and dust, sprays, perfumes or chemicals like gulal too, can result in breathlessness, wheezing and aggravated asthma, if the person is sensitive. Six pills of Ipecac 30CH, given every hour for five doses as soon as patient experiences breathing difficulty provides great relief in such cases. There are other remedies too based on more detailed case history.

A sixteen-year-old girl had a history of suffering from frequent breathlessness, especially during the Ganesh Chaturthi processions. I prescribed her Ipecac 30CH, every half hour for two hours and monitored at our clinic for a day. It resulted in reduced breathlessness immediately after the second dose. Even now, she carries a bottle of Ipecac 30CH and follows the prescribed dosage to get relief in case of emergencies.

Air pollution also affects other organs besides the respiratory system and lungs; we cannot ignore eye irritation and allergies that may later worsen. People allergic to dust particles, kilns smoke, perfumes and sprays may develop an allergic cough and cold. Homeopathy works wonders with such allergic cough and cold. A lady, who came for her treatment regarding her continuous sneezing and acrid, watery nasal discharge, was suffering from allergies. She was allergic to perfumes, detergents and house dust. She was prescribed Natrum–Mur 200CH, and after one year of regular treatment, she was symptom-free.

Another issue is eye irritation or redness of the eye. Homeopathic medicine like Euphrasia 30CH along with Euphrasia eye drops can be used to cure eye irritation and redness. A three-year-old girl faced itchy eyes and eye redness. For this, she was prescribed Sulphur 30CH, and a follow up after two weeks relieved her of health issue.

Water pollution

We all know it is advisable to drink purified or boiled water. Water contains microbes, pathogens and chemicals which lead to water pollution. Diarrhoea, hepatitis A and E, typhoid, cholera, roundworm and threadworm infestation in the stomach, are caused due to drinking polluted water. Along with these, arsenic poisoning, which leads to diarrhea, dehydration and exhaustion, is another hazard of consuming contaminated water. Prolonged exposure to arsenic poisoning can also lead to bladder and skin cancer. A host of skin diseases are also caused by coming in contact with polluted water.

People, who suffer from hepatitis A, should follow a low-fat diet. A person suffering from hepatitis may feel tired and nauseatic. Homeopathic medicines like Card-Mar, Chelidonium, Chionanthus, Lycopodium help with such symptoms. Remember, a bit of hygiene like regularly washing hands before consuming food or water and drinking boiled, or purified water can prevent Hepatitis A. In case of typhoid, homeopathic medicines such as Baptisia, Arnica, and Muriatic acid are useful. Even after treatment, if the typhoid symptoms like constipation, vomiting and headache continue, Bryonia or Phos-acid could be prescribed to help the patients.

A 34-year-old lady complained of nausea and uneasiness while consuming food. She was diagnosed with jaundice after examination. After prescribing her Lycopodium for a week, she got rid of nausea and uneasy feeling. She was put on a maintenance dose to improve her liver function as well.

A 30-year-old man suffering from fever and extreme weakness visited my clinic. The tests revealed typhoid. I prescribed him Muriatic acid 200CH; however, body pain persisted. I advised him to follow a light, more liquid-diet. In the next ten days, he was symptom-free.

Pollution is now inevitable; homeopathy can help you deal with pollution-related ailments and help you lead a healthy life.

Reasons For Lack Of Sexual Intimacy!

Reasons For Lack Of Sexual Intimacy!

Reasons for Lack of Sexual Intimacy

Sexual intimacy is an integral part of a relationship and almost as imperative as trust and communication to sustain and enhance that relationship between two people. It is associated with feelings of loveromanceemotionsaffection and most importantly commitment to each other. Sex helps bond relationships further and creates a broader sense of intimacy in a loving relationship. However, lack of intimacy with a partner can be a source of frustration and anxiety in both men and women. This can create feelings of rejection in a person and can develop feelings of self-doubt in them. Further, It can increase a gap between a couple which in the long run can cause irreparable damage to their relationship. Hence, It is very important for a person to know and understand what can be the probable causes of low sexual desire in their respective partners. Listed below are a few causes:

1. Stress

Studies indicate that stress can be a major reason for decreased sex drive in people especially, in men. Stress at home, at work or any kind of stress that may have a huge impact on a person, can leave them exhausted. This can make sleep or any other way to unwind and relax more appealing compared to sex which can feel like a chore for that person at that time.

2. Unresolved conflicts

Problems and unresolved issues in a relationship can make your partner withdraw themselves emotionally and show less affection. If one feels disrespected, unappreciated, criticized or feels let down by their partner, it may put a strain on intimacy.

3. Emotional intimacy

Lack of emotional intimacy can be a reason for a lack of sexual intimacy too. Be it a man or a woman, feeling disconnected from your partner can make it hard to connect during sex or enjoy it. Spending quality time together can help build emotional intimacy and ultimately bring back physical intimacy.

4. Depression

Depression is a serious illness that interferes with all aspects of your life, including your sex life. It is not the same as feeling sad for a short while as that is temporary and fades away with time. If your libido has been low for an extended time, and if it’s causing you stress or sadness, it might be time to talk to your doctor.

5. Self-esteem

Body image issues and low self-esteem affect both men and women. If a person doesn’t feel confident in their skin and feels unattractive it can take a toll on their relationships, particularly when it comes to physical intimacy because it leads to inhibitions. In such a case, complimenting your partner and showing patience and understanding can help your partner feel more comfortable about themselves.

6. Hormonal imbalance

Hormonal imbalance can compromise your sex life by affecting your energy, physical sensitivity and desire. The three main hormones that could be affecting sexual desire are estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone levels. The hormonal imbalances found in menopause, pre-menopause and post-menopause can result in the decline of sexual drive in women. If it persists it’s best to visit a health professional for proper guidance.

7. Rejection

Rejection by your partner in earlier times can lead to a lack of sexual intimacy. If you have ignored and turned down sexual advances from your partner in the past, it can make your partner feel unwanted and can put them off intimacy. This can make them distant and not initiate sex.

Sexual intimacy plays a major role in any relationship/marriage. When there is a lack of sexual intimacy it makes the couple less satisfied with each other. Seeking help from a professional marriage counselor or relationship expert can be beneficial in understanding your issues and guiding you to work it out together.
