Physical Activity - How It Can Boost Your Immunity?

A healthy person can be more productive; increased productivity will eventually lead to success and happiness. However, all of this goes for a toss when you suffer from frequent illness. The frequency of falling sick is also known to reduce a body’s immunity further.

And, exercise is known to boost not only the immune system of the body, but also keeps the bones and the heart healthy, preventing the risk of many diseases and illnesses. It is in the last few decades that various studies and research has confirmed a number of health benefits associated with regular exercise, immunology being one of them.

Physical activity boosts the immune system

Doctors have found that regular physical activities help in boosting the cells that are there in the body to attack the bacteria and other disease-causing microbes when they enter the body. In people who do not exercise at all, these cells turn out to work rather more slowly compared to those who lead an active daily life with a few hours or minutes of physical activities in it. And as a result of exercising, the immune system becomes well-equipped to prevent attacks of germs which could make you sick.

Can doing too much physical activity be harmful?
Physical activity is primarily known for keeping your body in a perfect shape and your weight under control. However, one must understand that it can only help the body's natural immune system when done at a moderate level, as overdoing it can lead to suppressing the normal immune functions instead. If you don’t give your body the rest it requires, the immune system can become weaker than before, making you feel weak, tired and badly run down.

How can you boost your immunity power through exercise?
One doesn't need to be an athlete or start doing heavy weightlifting to boost the body's immunity power. Walking half an hour daily or spending a few hours every week in the gym can help you develop better immunity. Remember, the whole concept behind physical exercise boosting the immune system of the body lies in speeding up the cells of the immune system so that, it can fight off the bacteria. Therefore, as long as an exercise is boosting the cells' functionality, you're good to go, irrespective of whether it's swimming or cycling or regular jogging.

Though, there are still debates on the direct relationship between exercises and how it improves the immune functions of the body, immunologists and allergy specialists have found simple truths about the impact of exercise on immunology. Therefore, outside of helping your body in becoming healthier over time, there’s no denying that regular exercise can help the body in fighting off harmful diseases as well, by boosting its immune power.

सिर्फ हल्दी को एक भोजन के रूप में इस्तेमाल करने से सीरम कोलेस्ट्रॉल का स्तर कम हो सकता है. उचित कोलेस्ट्रॉल का स्तर बनाए रखने से कई कार्डियोवास्कुलर (हृदय सम्बंधित) रोगों को रोका जा सकता है.
10. इम्युनिटी के लिए

Cirrhosis Liver - Ayurvedic Remedies That Can Help!

Cirrhosis of the liver is a chronic and progressive condition in which the liver gets damaged and healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue, ultimately causing dysfunction of the liver. Liver damage obstructs the circulation to the liver and also hinders the processing of nutrients, hormones, drugs, toxins as well as the production of proteins and other substances made by the liver. Liver cirrhosis is caused due to hepatitis C, fatty liver, alcohol abuse, viral infections, inherited diseases, and as a toxic reaction to drugs and environmental waste products. The modern management of this condition involves diet modification, reduction in salt intake, total abstinence from alcohol, and avoiding all the causative factors of this condition.

Cirrhosis of liver causes multiple symptoms in the body including fluid collection in the abdomen, bleeding varices in the stomach, chronic heart failure, damage to the central nervous system, and various metabolic disorders in the body. Advanced cirrhosis of liver is ultimately fatal.

Ayurvedic  Treatment

  1. It is therefore of prime importance to commence treatment at the earliest possible. It is of utmost importance to treat the known cause of the condition. Ayurvedic herbal medicines have a definite action on the hepatic cells and can effectively treat inflammation within the liver. Ayurvedic medicines can also treat infection as well as metabolic dysfunction of the liver, and protect it from the toxic effects of drugs and environmental wastes. Ayurvedic medicines can therefore be effectively used to treat all the known causes of liver cirrhosis.
  2. Liver damage causes healthy cells to be replaced with scar tissue. This is preceded by a process of inflammation, swellingand gradual death of the liver cells. Early institution of Ayurvedic treatment can help dramatically reduce inflammation and swelling and thereby preserve the liver cells and prevent unnecessary damage. Even in the early phase of scar deposition. Ayurvedic herbal medicines can help remove scar tissue, minimize permanent liver damage, and help regenerate damaged or near-dead cells Ayurvedic herbal medicines therefore form a comprehensive treatment therapy for liver cirrhosis.
  3. The other symptoms resulting from liver cirrhosis such as ascites, esophageal varices, congestive cardiac failure and metabolic disorders start improving automatically when the obstruction in the liver is treated and removed. However, Ayurvedic medicines can treat these symptoms independently too, if these are observed to be severe in the affected individual and require urgent medical care. Improved functioning of the liver also helps to improve the overall metabolism and nutrition of the body and metabolize toxic substances within the body. Prompt and aggressive Ayurvedic treatment, therefore, helps comprehensively treat liver cirrhosis and significantly reduce morbidity and mortality resulting from this disease.
  4. Cirrhosis can also adversely affect the central nervous system and cause psychotic symptoms and permanent nerve damage. Prompt treatment with Ayurvedic herbal medicines also helps to preserve the brain function and treat the associated symptoms. If required, brain damage can be treated separately with herbal medicines which strengthen the nervous system and help rejuvenate nerve cells. Medicines which act on the nervous system also help improve confidence and self-control and are therefore equally useful in helping the affected individual abstain completely from alcohol, which is a known and predominant cause of cirrhosis.
  5. Depending upon the severity of the condition, most individuals affected with cirrhosis require regular and aggressive Ayurvedic herbal treatment for periods ranging from six to eighteen months, in order to obtain significant benefit and a possible complete cure from the condition. Ayurvedic treatment thus has a definite role to play in the management and treatment of cirrhosis.

The longest, healthy living individuals throughout history who lived to 80, 90 and even 100-plus years of age lived without suffering from obesity, diabetes, heart disease, dementia, osteoporosis or cancer.
They never knew the concept of good fats, bad fats, low carb diets, glycaemic index, or any other modern health.

What they were eating?

  • The best available data suggest ancestors obtained about 35% of their dietary energy from natural fats, 35% from carbohydrates and 30% from protein. Saturated fats contributed approximately 7.5% of total energy.
  • Now indian diet is made up of upto 60 to 70% of carbohydrates and most of it is refined carbohydrates where as our ancestors carbohydrates were complex non starchy like fruits and vegetables.
  • Now there is phobia against fats since 1960. 
  • All fats are not bad.
  • Natural fats are healthy and it's required for good physical and brain health.
  • Only processed oils are not good.

What was the timing of our ancestor's eating?

  • They were mostly eating between dawn to dusk.
  •  In ancient rome, dinner was called" cena" and was the main meal of the day. It was taken late in the afternoon or when the sun started going down.
  • With no electricity, cooking dinner in the evening was not an option.
  • Till 19th century, lunch was dinner and dinner was lunch.
  • The whole day was structured differently than it is today.
  • People got up much earlier and went to bed much earlier.
  • Today people have dinner at 9 pm to 10 pm and snack in the evening.
  • If we have 500 to 600 calories in dinner and goes to sleep after 1 to 2 hrs, where the energy goes? it gets stored as fat.
  • Data says almost 70% of all ice cream is consumed after 6pm. 
  • If we keep on snacking without giving 12 to 15 hrs rest to our gastrointestinal system, how it can be a healthy habit?
  • It's against our evolution.
  • Our environment has changed dramatically, from hunter-gatherer to agriculture to industrial revolution to technological era.
  • In past 50-100 yrs we saw huge changes in food and eating habits.
  • Our genes require 100s of 1000s of years to evolve haven't been able to keep up to sudden changes.
  • Only 10% of our genes have adapted in past 10000 years 90% have not.
  • Our genes haven't fully adjusted to these. 
  • Discrepancy between genes and modern environment= chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertention, obesity and cancers.

1. सुबह 6 बजे उठ के कसरत, सैर या योग कुछ न कुछ जरूर करे

2. सुबह का भोजन पूरन आहार की तरह खाये। अच्छा पौष्टिक आहार घी, मखन आदि। 

3. खाने क बाद पानी न पीये, पीया गया पानी जहर के समान है। पानी कम से कम 45 मिनट के बाद पीये। 

4. सूर्य असत के बाद कीया भोजन आपकी मूर्खता परमान है, मोटापा, मधुमेह, विवधं, अफारा आदि रोग उत्पन्न करता है।

5. जिनको पाचन की तकलीफ है वो सुबह उठते ही खाली पेट अौर रात को सोने से पहले गरम पानी पीये।

6. भोजन बनाने के लिये refined या dalda का प्रयोग न करें। घी का प्रयोग सरवोतम।

7. जबरदस्ती पानी न पीये और ऐक ही बार में न पीये। पानी को थोड़ी थोड़ी मात्रा मे ले।

8. रात का भोजन हलका करे।

9. रात को खाने में मांस, पनीर जैसी जो पचने में भारी हो उनको न खाये।

All about coffee:

Guna (properties)- laghu (light), ruksha (dry) veerya (potency)- ushana (hot).
Prabhaav (effect)- hridya (cardic stimulator).

Effect on tridosh: it boosts pitta n supresses vaata and kapha in minor dose.

# in minor dose it is vaata shaamak because of ushan gunna but in excessive dose it boosts vaata because of its ruksha gunna.

# digestion- in minor dose it improves digestion, in excess it acts antagonistic and hampers digestion,

# cardio-vascular system: 
It gives strength to heart in improves stroke of heart, it has inotropic action on heart, it is peripheral vasoconstrictor but dilates cornary arteries thus protects from attacks upto a leavel.

# respiratory track: it stimulates respiratory track.

# urinary track ; it is diuretic, it has direct effect on nephrons and improves its action in optimum dose. 

# saatmikaran: in adequate dose it helps in dhaatu nirmaan (anabolism) but if taken in excess will leads to" kshya" (deplition)
Also good in common fever

Signs of its overdose in body- 

Chronic stage- abdominal pain & distention, vomit n nausea, tremours, confused state of mind, paralysis, throat pain, excessive thrist.

1st grade addiction: indigestion, anemia, headache, breathlessness, anxity.

Note ; all beneficial effect of coffee is only in its adequate dose over dose will work inversely.
