Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a deficiency disease, where thyroid gland is either producing very little Thyroxine or nil. This is an essential hormone for multiple vital metabolic functions of the body. Plus it is needed for development of brain during fetal life and for normal functioning of brain later. Hence, it has to be supplemented every day for rest of the lifetime. There is no CURE> Thanks.
