Young girls might get osteomalacia patellae. Pain could be because of muscular weakness. But these are all conjectures. Need a clinical review for diagnosis.

Hi there It's hard to reach any provisional diagnosis on the basis of symptom like pain in your knees. There can be many reasons behind your knee pain. It's hard to mention all of them but would like to mention few possible causes for your knee pain. For example knee pain can be because of weak leg muscles, deficiency of calcium, deficiency of vitamin D, any knee ligament injury, certain degenerative changes, if it's during walking or running activities then foot wear can be the cause and so on. I would still like to advice you to have good calcium diet and do some leg exercises starting with quadriceps and hamstring isometrics, stretching leg muscles, cold pack on knee for 15-20 mints, wear knee support, change your foot wear. Hope this information will be helpful.

Knee pain or for that matter, any mechanical pains are caused by analysis of physical stress acted upon the tissue vs strength of the tissue. If tissue strength is greater than the physical stress acted upon it, then there won't be any injury. First, one should analyse, in activity of daily life, which part of the joint you r stressing. Then one should analyse, is that part strong enough to take the stress. If stress is greater than strength, then there will be injury, then pain n disuse stiffness as well as dususe weakness. Therefore, you will be under vicious cycle. To take out stiffness, pain n weakess, consult physiotherapist. Then, try to strengthen your knee according to your physical stree to prevent recurrence.
