Dear lybrate-user, as far as what I can interpret from your description these are the few things that you need to understand: 1. Use Mouthwash twice a day and preferably do not rinse your mouth after using mouthwash a minimum for 15-20 minutes for maximum effect. 2. Use Tongue cleaner regularly. 3. Do you have a runny nose or sinusitis (Or possibly allergic rhinitis) which keeps producing secretions in your nose and sinuses (air cavities around nose) through the day. The sinuses get filled up with them. When you sleep at night these secretions flow through the rear of your nose into throat and produce bad odour or sometimes through the day also. 4. In case you have Acidity related problem (Gastritis) associated with regurgitation of food back into the food pipe while you sleep at night, can also produce bad breath. If you have this undergo treatment for this also. 5. Get your blood sugar screening done. Some of us may be diabetic. This can also produce bad breath. So please assess yourself on all these parameters to see where do you need advice and whom should you consult. 6. Do you smoke or have a tendency to munch something throughout the day? This can also predispose and constantly feed the bacteria for producing bad breath. So kindly consult a dentist first. Then step by step if not relieved and ENT specialist if you have Nose related problem. Hoping that this will help you. Take care.
Dear Lybrateuser, - Other than oral problem bad breath could be due to eating raw onion, garlic, milk products, alcohol & smoking if you do so - also indigestion due to stomach & liver problem can lead to bad breath - if you do not have oral problem, then consult a gastroenterologist to rule out any digestion problem - avoid fried, spicy & junk food, have more of fruits & vegetables & whole grains - have 7-8 glasses of water for proper hydration & digestion - do regular exercise like walking, yoga, deep breathing for proper digestion.
Start brushing after each meal. Get a scaling done from a dentist, that shall solve the problem of bad breath.
