Post-exposure prophylaxis (pep) is a medication that can be taken after a potential exposure to hiv to reduce the risk of infection. The medication is most effective when taken as soon as possible after the exposure, ideally within 72 hours. The medication you mentioned, "traffic" is a combination of two drugs, tenofovir and emtricitabine, which are commonly used for pep. These medications are generally well-tolerated and can be effective in preventing hiv transmission when taken correctly.
