Hello, Thanks for the query. Your breakfast quantity seems quite high, that is the reason for high blood glucose after the breakfast. Two bowls of poha, which is mainly only carbohydrate. There is no mention of food taken at lunch time, evening tea or any other snacks and dinner. So difficult to know your total intake. Another important aspect is at 76 years with a BMI of 27.36 kgs/Sq meter you are very close to being in obese category. Your ideal weight at this age should be about 67 to 68 kgs. That shows an excess of 14 kgs. This also adds to glucose increase. Thanks.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, I understand that you are on a strict diet, walk enough and are on jardiance 25 mg and metformin? 1000 mg (you have not specified the dose) before breakfast. I note that your post breakfast readings alone are in the 250 mg range while others are all normal. I note that you are about 10 kg overweight. If you make your breakfast also very low carbohydrate and more protein and vegetables it will help. You need to reduce weight gradually by about 1 kg per month to about 75 kg if you achieve this you may not need any increase in medications but may actually need less medication. What is your hba1 c value and what is your serum creatinine level?
