Hi lybrate-user. Yours indeed is a serious issue. Please try to convince him harder from your side. Or else you can take help of some relative who you think will be able to convince your hubby. The best advise I can offer you is to get in touch with a counselor who can talk your husband into taking proper treatment. Slowly and gradually he will do it. Take care. Have a good day.

Hello, Thaks for the query. With a BMI of 30.2 kgs/Sq meter, he is already in grade 1 obesity. His ideal body weight shouold be about 70 kgs. So there is an excess of 20 kgs. This is one of the main reasons for uncontrolled blood glucose. Unless specific efforts are made to reduce weight, by strict diet control and regular exercise, it is difficult to achieve strict blood glucose control. If that is not done, then all the long term complications of diabetes will start appearing much early affecting various vital organs like eyes, heart, kidneys ad nerves. I treatment of diabetes apart from drugs exercise and diet control are absolutely essentail. Thanks.
