Health Benefits Of Strawberries!

The strawberry, is one of the most popular berry fruits in the world. 

Strawberries are really good for health as it is full of nutrients which has many beneficial effects on body.

They are packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols, strawberries are a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food. They are among the top 20 fruits in antioxidant capacity and are a good source of manganese and potassium.

Now we will talk about the benefits of consuming strawberries one by one.

1. Weight Loss- Strawberries boost the production of some fat-burning hormones. They help reduce appetite, decrease glucose, and reduce body weight and fat, all of which promote weight loss. 

2. Improves Heart Function and Prevents StrokeStrawberries have high levels of heart-healthy antioxidants which lowers the risk of cardiovascular diseases by inhibiting the formation of total and LDL (bad) cholesterol. The anti-inflammatory power of the antioxidants in strawberries helps reduce the formation of blood clots that are linked with stroke. 

3. Prevents CancerVitamin C, folate, anthocyanins are few of the many flavonoids in strawberries that act as excellent antioxidants. Together, they form a strong line of defense to fight cancer and tumor growth.

4. Boosts Brain Function- Strawberries are rich in iodine, vitamin C, and phytochemicals, which help maintain the proper functioning of the nervous system. Potassium, in strawberries, also has been linked to an improved cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain.

5. Skin Care- Strawberries contain salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), and ellagic acid, which reduce hyperpigmentation, prevent acne, and remove dead skin cells.

6. ANTI AGING- Strawberry is rich in anthocyanins and antioxidant properties, and may be useful in preventing free radical-induced skin damage.

7. DiabetesEating strawberries can lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes as they have a low glycemic index.Fever

8. Reduces High Blood Pressure- Strawberries are rich in potassium and magnesium and low in sodium. Potassium and magnesium act as vasodilators, meaning that they help reduce hypertension and the rigidity of arteries and blood vessels.

9. Boosts Immunity- Vitamin C present in strawberry boosts the immune system and helps in curing common cough and cold.

10. Hair HealthThe rich variety of antioxidants and vitamins help battle hair loss, moisturize the hair, and prevent dandruff

Now we should also know that if we consume anything in excess then it may cause some side effects also. So excessive consumption of strawberries can cause:

  1. Diarrhea and gas
  2. Liver disease-Yellow skin (jaundice)
  3. Pain and swelling (inflammation) of the lining of the respiratory tract
  4. Gout, arthritis
  5. Nervous tension
  6. Water retention (edema)
  7. Kidney ailments, kidney stones
  8. Fever
  9. Allergic reactions
  10. Lethargy

Therefore to avoid such symptoms one should consume them in a limit and should eat variety of fruits also to get all types of nutrients.
