Kombucha is a type of fermented, effervescent and sweetened black or green tea. Kombucha is produced by fermenting tea using a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast, to which sugar is added. Kombucha is a beverage that can be easily made at home – it only requires tea, sugar, and an active starter culture of bacteria and yeast. The culture, known as the “mother culture,” is combined with tea—usually black or green—and sits for roughly 10 days. During this time, a thin colony of bacteria forms on top. Diabetes is disease of lifestyle. It can't be cured but only controlled. There are lakhs of people who controlled their diabetes without medicines. It can be kept under control for years. But it usually happens only in those who have mild diabetes.

Hi, My Mom is 47 years old and Diabetic patient. Her sugar level is under control. For Constipation sometimes she takes Madiphala rasayana with lemon (almost 2 times in a week). This gives her relief. Is it good if diabetic patient's have that syrup?

Madiphala rasayana is not good for diabetic patient madiphal is citrus fruil but process in syrup base .which is sweet in nature. Triphala powder is good for her constipation.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given In that there is no mention about how is your blood glucose and BP controlled, what are the drugs being taken for those conditions and their dosage. Plus no mention about weight, diet and exercise etc. Plus I am unable to understand why are you asking about taking 300 mg of Thyroxine. That is a hormone, only used in treating hypothyroidism. It is used in microgram strength. Thanks.

You pass by that cake shop and happen to glance at a sumptuous chocolate cake, and then realization dawns on you that you are not allowed to eat simple sugar. Why? The answer to it is diabetes, for which you only have your pancreas to blame. Situated behind the stomach in your body, the pancreas is an organ whose role is to produce hormones and enzymes that aid in the digestive process. One of the hormones that the pancreas produces is insulin which is required by the body to metabolize sugar that is present in various foods.

So, if your pancreas does not produce the required amount of insulin or fails to utilize insulin effectively, it leads to accumulation of glucose in your blood. The improper functioning of the pancreas leads to diabetes. There are four types of diabetes and they are classified with respect to the manner in which the pancreas mal-functions:

  1. Type 1 Diabetes: In this type, the immune system of the body wrongly attacks the insulin producing beta cells of the pancreas. This impairs the ability of the pancreas to secrete insulin, thus leading to Type 1 diabetes. However, even after extensive research in this field, the exact triggers haven’t been found yet.
  2. Type 2 Diabetes: Type 2 Diabetes develops when the body becomes resistant to insulin. It can either mean that the pancreas is producing less than normal insulin or the body is not being able to utilize the produced insulin effectively. Factors such as a poor diet and lack of exercise increase the risks of Type 2 Diabetes.
  3. Pre-diabetes: Pre-diabetes is a condition wherein the blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be considered as ‘diabetes’. It can again occur due to a reduced secretion of insulin or the inability of the body to utilize the insulin effectively.
  4. Gestational Diabetes: This type of diabetes can develop only during pregnancy. This occurs primarily as the placenta, that connects the fetus with the body’s blood supply, produces hormones that impair the functioning of insulin. This type of diabetes can affect both the mother and the child.

Pancreatitis is a condition that is marked by an inflammation of the pancreatic cells. This inflammation can damage the beta cells that produce insulin, thus resulting in diabetes. Factors that contribute to it are a poor diet, lack of exercise, presence of excessive calcium in the blood or excessive alcohol consumption.

It is best that you incorporate lifestyle changes if you have any of these disorders, and talk to your doctor about a treatment plan. Today we are going to discuss about cancer, the cancer is a group of about 100 disease different diseases and it is basically the cells they start developing, multiplying and then they do not stop first they grow locally and there and then they spread out to different parts and what are the different symptoms of the cancers, well it depends upon which part of the body the cancer is developing like we are discussing about the brain tumors that the patient might have difficulty in vision, he may be having headache, he may be having vomiting or he may be having fits. Then to further investigate we need do a contrast study of the MRI then we diagnosed and then we keep recording it. For head and neck cancers like they can wear ulcer or a soar which doesn't heal, there can be a change in the voice the person might have difficulty in swallowing or so these are the early symptoms of cancers originating into the head and neck area. Then we further investigate we take a biopsy and then we diagnose the patient. For breast cancer, the earliest symptoms is a painless lump usually in Cancer in early stages pain is not there, so whenever there is a lump in a breast it should be investigated to allowed cancer. More than 90% of the lump in the breast on cancerous but it should be evaluated and cure, when we come to the lung cancer the common symptom is a mild cough. So any cough which is not getting the cure for more than two weeks it should be taken seriously it can be tuberculosis, it can be cancerous, so it has to be evaluated and investigative. Talking about the GI cancers of the intestinal cancers, well it present like indigestion or the patient is not getting well some might discomfort in the abdomen. So any problem persisting more than 2 weeks should be investigated by ultrasound, by endoscopy and then we do it. Carcinoma of the rectum and anal canal usually present with a bleeding associated with the stools or without stool should not be confused with the piles because they have the same presentation. So any problem persisting for more than 2 weeks is the thumb rule has to be investigated diagnosed and they have to be treated. Once we see that there is a problem then what we do we have to do an investigation and the first investigation is the biopsy many times a general people they have a false notion that if a biopsy is done then cancer will spread, well it is absolutely wrong. The biopsy is a must and it does not spread cancer. Thank you.
