Use a broad spectrum sunscreen both indoors as well as before going out. Sunscreen should be both uva and uvb protective. Always use your umbrella whether it is raining or not. Use a cap or a scarf or your dupatta to cover your head. Protect your eyes with a glares. Avoid scrubbing your face. Do not steam or sauna. If you swim, use a sunscreen prior to it and after. Avoid face cosmetics for the time being. Drink two litres of water every day. Munch on papaya, pumpkin, black grapes. These contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients which will soften your skin. Do not stress over anything. Spf 15 to 50 is fine.
Mix 1 teaspoon each of honey and milk, and apply the paste over your face and neck. Apply a paste of 1 teaspoon turmeric powder and 3 teaspoons fresh lemon juice on darkened skin. Beat an egg well and apply the fluffy mixture to your face. Wash it off after it's dry. You can use spf 30 sunscreen. Consult online for complete skin care treatment.
Use SPF 30.
If you want to naturally lighten your skin tone, you can try the following remedies:
HONEY & LEMON MASK: This mask made from lemon and honey (50 gm honey & 5 drops of lemon juice) is used in the morning hours, 45 minutes before taking a bath. If you wish to apply this mask in evening, then make the paste thick by adding gram flour. After using this mask, apply a nourishing cream.
TEA TREE OIL: Use tea tree oil facewash twice a day followed by tea tree toner and an oil free moisturizer.
LEMON JUICE: Apply fresh lemon juice on the affected area with a cotton ball. Leave it on for around 10 minutes then rinse with cool water.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water and use the mixture as a toner. Apply on your face with a cotton swab.
ALOE VERA: Aloe Vera has burn-relieving properties and can promote healing, fight infection, and even reduce scarring. Scrape out the gel from an aloe plant with a spoon, and apply to your face.
ALMOND POWDER: Mix almond powder with a little water, and apply the paste to your face. Let it dry and remain on your skin for up to half an hour, then rinse it off. (You can easily make the almond powder yourself in a grinder.)
PAPAYA AND HONEY: Papaya has a holy grail ingredient- papain that will slough the dead skin cells and promote healthy skin cells. Also, papaya has bleaching properties that will work on skin lightening. Extract the pulp out of papaya and mix it with 2 teaspoons of honey. Smear the mixture on your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse with water and moisturize.
Try what sounds good to you, and observe how it works. If it solves the problem, you don’t need to try any others. If it doesn’t seem to work, then try a different approach. Each person is different and will react differently to these remedies.
