My wife age is 26 years and an year back when she consulted a skin doctor for hair fall, we realized that she was hypothyroid and her TSH level was 8.5 at that time and she has multiple other vitamin deficiencies and started treatment for all these and 6 months back even PCOD problem started and we have started treatment for this as well from a gynecologist and the thyroid treatment is being taken from an endocrinologist She was initially given thyroxine dose of 50 mg and for first 6 months thyroid was in control, but from last 4 months, her thyroid levels were moving up and down, not sure if this is because of PCOD treatment being taken in parallel or because of hormonal changes 2 Months back her thyroid levels went negative (hyperthyroid) and doctor suggested to decrease the thyroxine dose from 50 to 25 mg and because the dose has been reduced, menstrual problems started and from last 2 months she hasn't got her period and spotting is appearing almost every alternate day and when we got tested the thyroid level yesterday, now the TSH level has bumped up to 18 and free T4 was around 0.62 and now the doctor was suggesting to increase the dose to 62 mg and come and meet after a couple of months. Now we are completely frustrated because how can we get to know whether thyroid values are increasing or decreasing, so that accordingly dose can be adjusted before it has gotten worse, she is doing yoga every day, she quit coffee / tea, she is eating leafy vegetables every alternate day, she is taking thyroxine medicine on time every day, her weight is according to her weight (5-5 height and 60 kg weight, she doesn't eat non veg and doesn't smoke or drink. She is very disturbed and often crying as we want to try for a baby when the health condition is stabilised, but because of this thyroid she has become weak and lost interest on her. When thyroid was not detected, the only problem she has was hair fall and as soon as we started medication, PCOD problem started, irregular menstrual problem started started etc etc, I still wonder that we shouldn't have started external medication and instead would have focused on curing it naturally by exercising and by following a healthy diet, I strongly feel, since we started medication, it was used to external medication and stopped it's functioning. Now we want to give homeopathy a try, is it wise to do so or how should we go forward?
