However most of the times it is an accepted theory that migraine occurs in a predisposed individual in presence of a "precipitating factor", whichever may be any of the following - stress, depression, impaired and irregular sleep patterns, allergy to diet items, head injury, over exposure to sun, physical exhaustion, nutrient dieffcient diet etc.
Evaluation needs a comprehensive history along with supervised treatmnet both for the acute pain attacks and prophylaxis for preventing future attacks
