Hello i'm 23 years old, I was suffering from hair fall from 2018, then I consulted a doctor in 2021 and start using minoxidil 5%+finasteride0. 1% combination lotion and after use of 4-5 months my hair fall completely stopped, and in june 2022 I stopped using it because I was traveling and my hair fall started again then I again started the same combination of minoxidil 5%+finasteride 0.1% lotion in july 2022 and using it from 2 months now but my hair is still falling, i'm very upset, should I change 5% to 10% or should I leave this. Hello lybrate-user! there are many reasons for hair fall. Genetics is one of the major reasons. Others are 3-4 months post illness, nutritional deficiency, scalp infections, stress, chemical treatments, use of dryer etc. There are many treatments for hair loss like prp, mesotherapy and low level laser for which you need to consult a trichologist. Keep your scalp clean and dry by using mild gentle shampoo. Hydrate yourself. Have a protein rich diet. Include soya, nuts and fruits. Protect your hair from excessive exposure to harsh sunlight by wearing a cap. You can apply castor and almond oil by mixing it before going to bed and wash it next morning, twice a week. These small hair care tips will definitely help you but it will take time. Do not discontinue the medicine. It takes time to get result. Sometimes even six months.
