Hi doctor thanks for your help. Here are my reports on lft sgot 48 sgpt 109 alkaline phosphate 116 ggt 221 all other items were normal. Should I consult a physician immediately. I have stopped taking alcohol from last 2 days but I am not sure how long I can go sober. I do not have any physical symptoms. Am I not in condition to start naltrexone?

Dear j.s. lybrate-user greetings! my best wishes for abstaining from alcohol. It is very difficult but you have overcome it with your habit. As far as the enzymes are concerned, they are mildly elevated. Your weight is also on the higher side so, liver is doing extra work on the glucose, fat and protein metabolism besides neutralizing the alcohol that you were consuming. Nonetheless, things will improve gradually as liver is a massive organ with a lot of buffer to work normally. What I would recommend is a diet and lifestyle change coupled with some ayurveda supplements that protects the liver and also helps in correcting the metabolism. Should you need to know more, you can contact me and I can give you more info on the same after a consultation. Have a nice day!
