I am 40 years old married woman having pcod many years and recently diagnosed sugar and having vildagliptin 50 mg and metformin hydrochloride 500 mg 2 times. Now sugar level is 146 fasting and after food 269. My height is 165 cm and weight 86 kg .i want to lose 21 kg .can I get a proper diet plan from you.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. The fasting & pp glucose levels are quite high. There is no mention of hba1c%, which is quite important in terms of total control. So please check hba1c% as well as lipid profile and inform. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes patient fasting should be < 100 mg or closer to it, pp should be 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. Pcod does also lead to being over weight or at times being over weight it self does lead to pcod. To suggest any specific die I need to know your current dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Plus there is a need to upgrade your current treatment for better control. Follow this 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up).
