Dear doctor, I hope you are safe and well. My question is regarding my mother (61 years of age, she has high blood pressure and has been taking allopathic medicine triplixam for a year now, although it controls her bp well but she constantly has dry throat and occasionally coughs, the doctor said it was not a big deal but I am afraid it may affect her in the long run. She first consulted an ayurvedic doctor who couldn't control he bp and recommended her to take allopathic help. What do you suggest I should do for her?

The tablet she is taking for hypertension are bound to have side effects lik dry throat and cough. Well I would suggest you that as her age is 61 you shld me more concerned abt her hypertension to be controlled rather dan cough. So if the cough is bothering her too much you can change the medicine or look for an ent surgeon.

1. Do saline gargles daily. 2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also. 3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, when there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected. 4. Drink hot liquids --hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat. Homeopathic treatment has very encouraging results and gives relief in long term consult online with details.
