1. My father has type 2 diabetes, his diabetes is around 250 from 1 year, he only takes metformin 500 mg sometimes, should he take other drugs like insulin injections or metformin 500 mg only is enough? 2. One other question is that below 50 weight diabetic patient, around 300 sugar should take metformin 500 mg only or should take other drugs with them? And I heard that metformin is only for obese patient so should 50 weight pt. Take it or not?

There are several medicibes to control diabetes. If metformin is not able to control it even after its max. Effective dose you need to add other drugs like dpp 4 inhibitors or sglt 2 inhibitors or sulfonylurea or acarbose or insulin.
