Dear Shaik, Your doctor must be having a diagnosis that needs long term antidepressant. Please discuss the diagnosis with her/him. Usually antidepressants are given for few more months after recovery, before we stop. If you are going to get married in 2 months time, it is important that you are fully treated for depression.

You are an adult, and no one can force to take any treatment you don't agree to. Your doctor must have advised you to continue the medication for a reason (for example - to prevent a relapse, or, you have residual symptoms, or any other reason). It's completely upto you whether you agree or disagree to that advice. Any resultant effect of your decision to not follow advice is also your responsibility.

Dear user, before stopping taking medicine, it's better for you to take some psychotherapy sessions, so that in future you can prevent the relapse. Medicine has its own course. My suggestion to you is have some counselling sessions and after that medicine can be stopped in consultaion with your doctor.

Coming off medicines are decided based on the severeity of your illness. If you are diagnosed with an episode of severe depression or anxiety, usually it is recommended to take medicines for 12 months and gradually wean off. I can understand that you are getting married, an event like this can be stressful too. If your doctor has recommended 9 months ,you can discuss with your doctor to come off now gradually over a period of few months with regular monitoring.
