Hello lybrate-user. Femilon tablets help in regularisation of periods and also act as contraceptive. If you are planning to get pregnant now, you can stop the tablet. If you are not planning right now, you can continue taking them for 3 months. Using these tabs for short period of time like 3 months will not effect your pregnancy. -also if you are overweight, consider losing weight and modify your diet also by taking more of complex carbs like rolled oats, millets, green leafy veggies and avoid simple carbs like maida, white sugar, white bread, white rice. And eat protein (in grams) equal to your weight (in kg). Eg. If you are 70 kg you should take 70 grams of protein daily. -make sure you do 30 mins of any kind of exercise daily or atleast 5 days in a week. -following all these along with medication will help in tackling pco effectively. -for further followup you can consult me privately online. Hope this helps.

Femilon is safe mostly. And it should regularise your periods. Howver, PCOS diagnosis is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning it should not be made solely on ultrasound, and other causes of irregular periods need to be ruled out. One also needs to make sure if you have any sugar problems that’s associated with PCO, upon Which u need additional medicines. I don’t know what ‘pcod sachets’ u have been taking, I certainly haven’t heard of this before. Howver I hope ur doctor has made PCOD diagnosis after ruling out other causes and advised u lifestyle modifications along with femilon, or else it won’t work. If you want, I can review your notes to see if u have pcod at all and prescribe u lifestyle modifications. If you’re interested, please book online consultation with me, or else you can carry on with femilon, which is safe don’t worry and unlikely to affect pregnancy in future.
