I am 53 years old. I have diabetes. I was advised to take glimy m to control my sugar level. But from last few days after taking the medicine my sugar level becomes very low. So I have stopped the medicine. Should I continue to take the medicine?

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the query, however, there is absolutely no information on actual blood glucose levels. What is "very low sugar levels'? Unless the numbers are given there is no way to give any opinion. Thanks.

May be the medication has to be altered. Follow strict diet control with low starchy food and avoiding sweets or sugary drinks. Do regular physical exercises. After 15 days check your blood sugar. Then ask for private consultation to adjust dosage and to asses you for proper management of diabetes.

Dear lybrate-user, as per your symptoms your are experiencing hypoglycemia i.e low blood sugar level, I suggest you to monitor blood sugar level at that time by glucometer and inform your doctor regarding the episode mean while to avoid hypoglycemia kindly have a meal at times and always carry something to eat so that you will not get low sugar's. Other tab can be given for you and which cannot cause low sugars too.
