I am taking metoprolol succinate xr25 mg+amlodipine 2.5 for around 3 months. My bp is in control. For this doctor advised to remove metropolol .after having not taking metoprolol for two days and taking alone amlodipine only my bp again raised. Bp is 150/90. Should I take amlodipine higher dose or to take metropolol again.

You can increase your amlodipine to 5 mg first. IF BP is still elevated, then 2nd BP medication can be added.

Continue the combination of metoprolo n amlodipin as it was having bp control, watch for bp monitoring if not control even with combination then increase dose.

If you are afe below 40 metoprolol is very effective. Age over 60 you can try higher dose amlodipine if bp uncontrolled.
