I am a male, 52 yrs. Diagnosed diabetes six years back. Now using metformin+ 0.5 glimepiride. Sugar levels r in control. I am using sugar free baidyanadh chyawanprash regularly. Does that effect adverse on my sugar levels? Does that do good or bad to ke?

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. There is no mention of fasting, PP glucose levels and HbA1c%. By saying "Normal" it is not clear at all. Because I am not aware about your definition of normal. Ideally FBG should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <6.5% in a well controlled person. Another important aspect is looking at your weight and height with aBMI of 29.53 kgs/Sq meter(Normal < 23kgs/Sq meter) you are almost in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal body weight should be about 75 to 76 kgs, which means there is an excess of over 20 kgs. This itself is a hindrance for better glucose control. As regards taking chyavan prash (without sugar) I am not aware of the various ingredients in it, which may be adding to glucose. That I leave it to your judgement. Thanks.
