I am diabetic and has undergone renal transplant on 14/5/19.1 am on insulin apidra and take. Now my creatinine is 1.2,no protein in urine, electrolyte normal, at 70 kgand height 5.7.i am on immunopressent drugs and wysolone. Although exercising daily and diet control sugar varies. Recently hb1ac. 6.8 previously was 7.9.fasting usually 140 to 150. Plus I take glycomet 500 sr at lunch. Please suggest how to lower fasting. Toujeo I take 16 units at bed time.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. To reduce fasting glucose you will have to look at your night time food intake. Even if if you reduce it by 8 to 10% fasting glucose will definitely come down. Conversely you may increase 2 units of night time insulin and check fasting glucose next day. Target value should be just about 100 mg/ Thanks.

Thanks for query toujio insulin is excellent. Increase this by 1 unit per day till you get your fasting blood sugar less than 130. Flutation is because of steroid. You should be regular in consult with diabetologist.
