Tuberculosis of endometrium can lead to infertility as one of its serious consequences. If the condition is diagnosed in its early stage and treated, the damage to the endometrium may be less. In such case the woman may have greater chance of preserving her fertility. If endometrial tuberculosis is left untreated for long time, there will be scarring of the endometrial tissue which may cause scanty menses and sometimes complete stoppage of menses. According to estimation at least 8 to 10 million women are affected with genital tuberculosis. It mainly occurs in reproductive age group of women. Most women suffering from endometrial tuberculosis remain asymptomatic. Majority of them are diagnosed during various investigations performed for infertility. The treatment of endometrial tuberculosis is same as that of lung tb or any other type of tuberculosis.
