I had asked the following question earlier on this site and I got some answers, which were really useful. I am diabetic since 25 years. I maintain hba1c within 6.3 - 6.7. Serum creatinine (scr) was 1.06 one year bak, recently I found it to be increased to 1.14. I repeated the test after 10 days and the same was 1.24. Does the increasing trend in scr indicate ckd/diabetic nephropathy? Urine protein is normal at macro and micro level. Sugar is controlled. No edema, bp normal. In this case, how to stop/slow down increasing trend of scr? Now, I would like to add one more onput that comes to my mind. I suffered from neuropathy due to vitamin-d deficiency and my right leg muscles were affected. It was five years ago and I became normal with the treatment. Recently, during the period when there was a signal of increasing trend of serum creatinine, I also had cramping in upper right leg (thigh). Also, at the same time, I had plantar fasciitis in right foot. Both these injuries were for a short time only. Can increase in serum creatinine be attributed to this? Though I have diabetes since long (25 years), sugar and bp are in control. What should I do?
