Hello, one of the important reason for decreased milk output is maternal anxiety and fear that her milk output may not be adequate for her baby. Therefore primary management would be having positive attitude towards continuation of breastfeeding and having positive thoughts about baby well being. This kind of feeling helps in secretion of hormone named 'prolactin' which is a milk secretory hormone. Along with this mother should focus on taking healthy diet including adequate calories and proteins. If you are taking galactagouge (helps in milk secretion like lactare capsules) don't be fully dependent on it as its not the only solution. Still if you want to take lactare capsules the dose may be 2-3 capsules per day to initiate with.

First, why do you think, milk is not coming at all? Our own perception may not be correct unless backed by scientific evidence. Secretion of milk is no issue if 1. Child passes 7-8 times clear watery urine 2. Child is gaining weight about 500-700 gms per month. 3. Child is playful and active. In absence of such evidence, your own unwanted fear, anxiety can be big impediment in the secretion of breastmilk. Follow up with your paediatrician, live the things to his judgment, if any of above is observed. Crying doesn't necessarily mean inadequate milk that leaves child hungry. But it does mean child needs your emotional attention and active engagement. Play, laugh with him, talk to him, pamper him with love and affection. Fear, doubt will rob you of these wonderful opportunity to enjoy with your bundle of joy. Remember positive attitude and faith is the only divide between success and failure. No one else apart from human being ever feeds the offspring with top milk in the universe. Why should we?

Use of good food , plenty of fluids and adequate rest while baby is also sleeping may be better . Remove any stress in the life and try home remedies like ajwain, jeera etc. first. If not working then consult a doctor to see where the problem is. IF baby is sucking well then milk production should also be fine. So, get better attachment and frequent feedings of breast with the baby to improve production of milk.
